is the only free and low-cost spay/neuter clinic conveniently serving the north and west sides of Chicago.
They specialize in TNR and dedicate most of their services to cats, but also perform spay/neuter for dogs on Tuesdays and see dogs for vaccines and other care on our Monday Wellness Days.
Tree House has performed more than 15,000 surgeries since the Spay/Neuter Clinic’s opening in 2009, the majority of which were free for feral cats or discounted for pets of individuals on public assistance. This brings their total to more than 25,000 spay/neuter surgeries performed since their founding. Tree House also offers free spay/neuter packages for under-resourced individuals and families in targeted areas who have the greatest need. Call 773-227-5535 or email [email protected] to make an appointment.
Mission
For more than 40 years Tree House has been working towards a No Kill Chicago–a city in which pets are not destroyed just because they are homeless. The only way to control cat and dog overpopulation and the killing of adoptable animals is by decreasing birth rates. This is why they started the first low-cost Spay/Neuter Program in the city in the 1980s and expanded their program with the opening of the BDVM Mac Lean Spay/Neuter Clinic – the only low-cost spay/neuter clinic conveniently serving Chicago’s north and west sides.
Clinic Information
*UPDATE* The Tree House BDVM Mac Lean Spay/Neuter Clinic will be working with a limited schedule until further notice as we work through a transitional period installing new medical software and hiring a new veterinarian. Please call 773-227-5535 ext. 0 or email [email protected] to schedule an appointment or for more information. We cannot take any walk-in appointments until further notice. We appreciate your patience and we hope to be back running at full capacity soon. Thanks!
The Spay/Neuter Clinic offers spaying and neutering services, vaccinations, and parasite treatments for cats and dogs. Low-cost services are available to the public, and we offer subsidized rates for low-income clients and TNR practitioners. With the opening of this facility, we hope to increase the number of surgeries we perform for non-resident animals by more than 500 percent (5,000 in the first year of operation) or more as our funding and space allows.
