About Us
“Making A Difference Rescue”is a Non-Profit Organization that is funded solely by donations made by the public. We are a 501(c)(3), no-kill animal rescue based in the Channahon, Illinois. With the help of dedicated volunteers and foster homes, as well as boarding and daycare facilities, we are able to rescue animals from potential euthanasia and help lower overpopulation in area shelters.
All donations are tax deductible.
Who We Are
Making A Difference Rescue is made up of a group of volunteers that are dedicated to placing abandoned and at-risk animals into pre-approved, reference checked, home visited homes. Making A Difference Rescue believes that these steps are crucial in order to ensure a safe and forever loving home for their animals.
Financial support and/or supplies that can be donated are always greatly appreciated.

Every day thousands of dogs & cats are
put to death in Illinois alone. Animal shelters
throughout the state are filled with animals of
all breeds, ages & sizes that were given up by their
owners or found as strays. Most of those animals
would have been loyal & loving companions,
enriching the lives of individuals & families,
if they had been given a chance to do so.
Instead of buying a dog or cat from a pet store
or breeder, you can save a life &
enjoy the affection & devotion of an adopted animal.
Making A Difference is thankful for the many people who have played active roles in Making A Difference Rescue a reality. We have so many family and friends that have selflessly donated their time by sponsoring, donating, rescuing, adopting and providing foster homes to so many displaced animals.
Hi, my name is Liz Bagley & I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001.
During my battle, I spent time sitting by the window noticing all of God’s little creatures…the birds, squirrels & rabbits. They brought peace to my troubled heart. I noticed 2 dogs across the street (I’ve moved since then) that were left for days without food or water. I would sneak over & take care of them. This cruelty brought sadness & much anger as I became aware of this reality for some animals.
So, I made God a promise one day, “God when you get me through this illness…..not if you do, but when you do, I will make a difference in this world”. And ever since, I’ve vowed to do everything in my power to prevent other defenseless animals from suffering the same fate. Since my promise, I have helped many animals in need of a loving home.
In 2007, I was blessed to start my own nonprofit rescue. I struggled to find the appropriate name for the organization. One day God spoke to my heart & said, “Why wouldn’t you choose a name to remind you of the promise that you made me to make a difference in the world?” Right away the name “Making A Difference Rescue” came to me. The name of this rescue has a meaning to my heart & reminds me often of my purpose in life. This is the reason that I am so passionate about saving an animal & changing their life forever. Life is precious & ALL life deserves respect.
My family is very understanding & patient while I dedicate a lot of time for this purpose. I am married to a wonderful man, Tony that has always shown me the support that I have needed, TOGETHER we are “Making A Difference”.

Bob W Sr. aka “Santa Pop”. He is the ‘Curator of the Cat House”. Bob shares his home with his wife, Rosie, a dog and multiple cats. Not only is he an animal lover, he is an active Lions club member.
Kathy T aka “Bully Breed Whisperer.” She will dispel any myth that you have about Bully breeds once you meet her gentle babies. She shares her home with her husband and multiple dogs.
Amaliya L. Amaliya shares her home with her husband, son and 2 dogs that she adopted through Making A Difference Rescue.
