Percy

My name is Percy.
I am a Presa Canario/ Pit mix.
I am now 10 months old and weigh 55lbs.

I was taken in to an open access municipal animal control. I was pretty banged up. Luckily some volunteers at the shelter took the time to notice me. I was emaciated, and I had two large nasty burns on my hips, badly cropped ears with dried blood and fly bites all over. They looked past my appearance and saw me for the good doggie that I am.

I am very affectionate and I like to rest my head on your leg. I do like to lean on you if you would let me. I have a lot of puppy energy but I am learning to walk better on leash. I am wary of dogs that I encounter that I am not familiar with and require an experienced handler.

I respond well to hand signals and will look to you for instruction. I have been told that I am extremely high energy and I will need a family that can keep up with me. I am house broken and crate trained.
I also love kids, but my foster mommy thinks that I would do best in home with children over 5ft tall or 100lbs because my excitement will knock down little ones.

I would require a high fenced in yard if a yard is available.

An angel sent me to Making a Difference Rescue. Will you watch over me too?

Please remember we can not adopt out of state because a home visit is a requirement. We require an at home evaluation and screening prior to adoption. We do this to ensure that our animals will go to safe forever homes.

We ask that you please call and inquire whether we are able to travel to your area. Percy is located in Chicago. He is adoptable within a 30 mile radius.

If you are interested in providing Percy a forever home, please fill out our adoption survey

This will expedite your inquiry as we are not able to return phone calls or emails during our own non volunteer working hours.
