Max is in need of foster or forever home.

This is Max. He may be the most silly and affectionate dog that we’ve ever met.

He’s a petite little guy. He weighs 45 lbs. and is around 2-3 years old.

If you’re a gardener, you can be sure that your yard will never be infested with feral cats, squirrels or rabbits. He loves to play in the mud…but never fear, he’s figured out how to jump into the tub on his own free will to have his feet and muzzle cleaned.

If you have kids…he will easily fit in. He’s a great disciplinarian. He will teach your kids to pick up after themselves quickly if they cherish their balls, legos, socks and underwear. No mouthiness from this one…just too many slobbery kisses.

He loves to sleep in and insists on spooning you in bed. He’s mastered the art of playing dead and will not budge from his spot until you physically move him.

He is quite the charmer and fancies himself a lap dog. Just like a baby, he will wrap his arms around your neck and schnooze on your shoulder.

Max also loves to go running with his person and will keep up with speed and match strides for slow down periods. He does very well meeting strangers. He has no anxiety, noise or separation issues.

He’s very low maintenance. He’s house broken, neutered, HW negative and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. He must be crated for his safety when left at home.
He can not be in a home with cats or small rodents.

He has an extremely high prey drive and the ability to jump over low gates and fences. Unless his forever home is in a condo setting where he will be walked daily, he will require a home that has a 6ft high privacy fence and he can never be left outside unattended.

We have discovered that he will resource guard bricks and rocks. Although he can be easily distracted from these items through positive reinforcement, he will require a dog savvy person who is willing and able to work with this behavior. He can not have any meaty bones.

Max is located in Chicago. We ask that inquiries be within 30 miles of Chicago.

Please remember we can not adopt out of state because a home visit is a requirement. We require an at home evaluation and screening prior to adoption. We do this to ensure that our animals will go to safe forever homes.
