Max…

Max has been waiting patiently for his forever home.  He has been with our rescue for 780 days.
He’s an amazing and affectionate dog… and though he has received many applications, none so far fits the criteria for what we are looking for.  We are holding out for the right home.

Max is 100% housebroken and crate trained.
He has no anxiety issues.
He can deal with fireworks, revving motorcycles, and other loud noises.

He needs a home with NO cats.
He needs a high fence if there is a yard as he has a high prey drive for rabbits, squirrels and rodents.

He is great with other dogs but prefers dogs his own size or smaller.  He does have resource issues with other dogs when high value bones are involved.

He must also be crated when left unsupervised as he will chew socks, underwear, shoes and blankets.

He is truly a phenomenal and loving dog.

Ranger is in search of his furever home.

Ranger is an adorable male black kitten that is looking for a forever loving home.

Ranger is 4 months old and such a sweetheart. He is friendly, lovable and playful. Ranger plays wonderful and snuggles with other cats but hasn’t been around a dog yet.

Ranger would make an awesome family pet. If you are interested in adopting Ranger, please complete our adoption inquiry form. A home visit is required and inquiries must be within a reasonable distance.

Titan is in search of his forever home.

Hi there!
My name is Titan and I am one years old.
I am the nicest pit bull you will meet.
I love hugs and kisses and if you let me I will put my head on your lap and fall asleep.

I live with my foster mommy & daddy, 2 smaller brothers (chi mix) and Luna-cat.
I love them all but I don’t play with Luna- she scares me
I am very healthy and I love walks and being outside in the yard. When we all go out for a walk I stay right by my family’s side. I don’t bark at people, my little brothers do that enough already…

Sometimes we go to this big park where we don’t have to be on the leash and we can just run around! I like it there but I always stay with my foster mommy…that place is so big that I am afraid to get lost.
Lots of other doggies go there too and we all play and when it is warm I like to swim and play fetch with my little brother Abbas.

Sometimes my foster mom and dad have to leave for work and they leave us in our crates. I like mine, it’s big and cozy and I always get a treat when I am there. When mom leaves us, we all go to sleep.

My foster mom says I am a good boy and when we get ready for dinner I like to talk to her in my doggie language. She says it’s funny.

Overall I am a good boy and if you have some treats and toys I am sure I would like them too, but even better if you like being outside like I do and then we could run together to the woof-finity and beyond!

Percy

My name is Percy.
I am a Presa Canario/ Pit mix.
I am now 10 months old and weigh 55lbs.

I was taken in to an open access municipal animal control. I was pretty banged up. Luckily some volunteers at the shelter took the time to notice me. I was emaciated, and I had two large nasty burns on my hips, badly cropped ears with dried blood and fly bites all over. They looked past my appearance and saw me for the good doggie that I am.

I am very affectionate and I like to rest my head on your leg. I do like to lean on you if you would let me. I have a lot of puppy energy but I am learning to walk better on leash. I am wary of dogs that I encounter that I am not familiar with and require an experienced handler.

I respond well to hand signals and will look to you for instruction. I have been told that I am extremely high energy and I will need a family that can keep up with me. I am house broken and crate trained.
I also love kids, but my foster mommy thinks that I would do best in home with children over 5ft tall or 100lbs because my excitement will knock down little ones.

I would require a high fenced in yard if a yard is available.

An angel sent me to Making a Difference Rescue. Will you watch over me too?

Brody’s Heroes

Brody3Brody2Brody went to his new foster home today.
We are so happy and relieved about this change for Brody.

Heather & Olivia – Thank you for being Brody’s heroes. He needed help and you stepped up to make a difference, we appreciate your compassionate hearts. Now Brody can relax and enjoy the love and attention until he finds his forever home.

Please welcome Shorty to Making A Difference Rescue!

Shorty is a 14 year young Black and Tan Pomeranian. He weighs in at 7lbs but his coat makes him appear twice that size in person.

He is extremely sweet and friendly. He walks well on leash, and is not 100% housebroken. He will go outdoors and on pads.
He is a spry little one and shows no sign of his age in his mannerisms.

Shorty is amazing with all the dogs that he has met and has ignored the cats that he encountered at the vets office. He is gentle with children, but is not a fan of being picked up. He will not go on furniture even if you allow him. He is not a cuddler in any way but shows his loyalty and affection by always being near you.

Shorty can be a talker. He will be the first to let you know when he needs to go outside, when it’s time to eat or if other dogs don’t move when he wants to be near you. He can be a real beggar for table scraps and his energy and excitement will fool you as he does not act his age.
He will also be the first to greet you at the door or let you know that there are visitors.

Please remember we can not adopt out of state because a home visit is a requirement. We require an at home evaluation and screening prior to adoption. We do this to ensure that our animals will go to safe forever homes.

We ask that you please email and inquire whether we are able to travel to your area.

Meet Brody

27693548-1-800x0Brody is a beautiful male Tabby.
He was born April 21, 2013.
He’s a loving kitty that gets along with other cats and dogs.

He is litter box trained and has been neutered. Brody is current with vaccines and has tested negative for for FIV.

Max is in need of foster or forever home.

This is Max. He may be the most silly and affectionate dog that we’ve ever met.

He’s a petite little guy. He weighs 45 lbs. and is around 2-3 years old.

If you’re a gardener, you can be sure that your yard will never be infested with feral cats, squirrels or rabbits. He loves to play in the mud…but never fear, he’s figured out how to jump into the tub on his own free will to have his feet and muzzle cleaned.

If you have kids…he will easily fit in. He’s a great disciplinarian. He will teach your kids to pick up after themselves quickly if they cherish their balls, legos, socks and underwear. No mouthiness from this one…just too many slobbery kisses.

He loves to sleep in and insists on spooning you in bed. He’s mastered the art of playing dead and will not budge from his spot until you physically move him.

He is quite the charmer and fancies himself a lap dog. Just like a baby, he will wrap his arms around your neck and schnooze on your shoulder.

Max also loves to go running with his person and will keep up with speed and match strides for slow down periods. He does very well meeting strangers. He has no anxiety, noise or separation issues.

He’s very low maintenance. He’s house broken, neutered, HW negative and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. He must be crated for his safety when left at home.
He can not be in a home with cats or small rodents.

He has an extremely high prey drive and the ability to jump over low gates and fences. Unless his forever home is in a condo setting where he will be walked daily, he will require a home that has a 6ft high privacy fence and he can never be left outside unattended.

We have discovered that he will resource guard bricks and rocks. Although he can be easily distracted from these items through positive reinforcement, he will require a dog savvy person who is willing and able to work with this behavior. He can not have any meaty bones.

Max is located in Chicago. We ask that inquiries be within 30 miles of Chicago.

Please remember we can not adopt out of state because a home visit is a requirement. We require an at home evaluation and screening prior to adoption. We do this to ensure that our animals will go to safe forever homes.
